The Dietetics Department at Lokpriya Hospital is a one-stop solution for all therapeutic diets and nutrition queries. Lokpriya hospital is an IDA (Indian Dietetic Association) accredited hospital.
Medical Nutrition Therapy ('MNT') is defined as Nutrition based treatment provided by a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist. MNT includes a nutrition diagnosis as well as therapeutic diet and counseling services to help in the management of acute and chronic diseases. MNT is a specific application of the nutrition care process in collaboration with different departments in the hospital. We are focused on the management of diseases, providing appropriate dietary service to the patients, ensuring faster recovery. We at Lokpriya Hospital do in-depth individualized nutrition assessments at the time of admission and in OPD. Repeated nutritional assessment is done to notify for any deviation in order to manage diseases.
Every meal makes a difference, hence we provide six meals in a day, after monitoring the nutritional requirement of the patient, assuring the quality and quantity of the food. In addition, an individualized tailored diet chart is planned and handed over to the patient at the time of discharge so as to fasten the recovery period.
We work in the society with the aim of making every human being aware of the benefits of a Healthy Balanced Diet, imparting our knowledge by delivering public lectures and doing regular Health Camps.
We help students learn, by providing enriching internship experience:
1) Registered Dietitian internship - students willing to appear for the Registered Dietitian exam.
2) B.sc and M.sc (Food and Nutrition) students.
